The foundations of our success

Born in February 1982 in São Paulo, Brazil, to a family of Portuguese descent, Gabby was introduced to sewing early in her childhood, as her mother always had sewing machines at home for small services.

In 2004, Gabby's mother and uncle started a small garment business in the heart of São Paulo. The business did well and grew quickly.

At that time, however, Gabby decided not to pursue a career in sewing. She graduated in pedagogy and completed two postgraduate degrees in education, where she worked for many years. However, her love for creative sewing was never left behind.

Gabby continued to perfect her sewing techniques, learned embroidery, and developed a special love for cross-stitching, which she used to personalize her daughter’s entire layette when she was born.

The family business came to an end in 2015 with the passing of her uncle, the founder of the business.

In 2015, Gabby and her family decided to move to the United Kingdom. She left her teaching profession behind and started a new life, putting her sewing skills and passion into practice. Thus, in mid-2016, Gabby Atelier was born— a new company that, despite being new, carries a rich history and plenty of experience. Today, Gabby Atelier is synonymous with quality, elegance, and respect for its customers.
